Here is a stunning piece of light aqua Japanese ohajiki sea glass that I bezel set in a dancing starfish setting. I then oxidized and polished it to bring out the rustic beauty of the silver. It measures about 3/4” and hangs on an 18” sterling silver chain.
Ohajiki (おはじき) is a traditional Japanese children's game similar to marbles, but flat in shape. It is played with small coin-shaped pieces called 'ohajiki'. The pieces are typically made of glass or plastic. The game “Ohajiki” comes from the Japanese word “hajiku”, which means “flicking”.
The ohajiki pieces used in my jewelry have been found on the beaches in and around Hawaii and Japan.
Perfect one of a kind necklace for that special girl in your life.
It will come in a little ribbon tied gift box.
Thanks for looking. :)
